First Look New 2025 Tesla Model Y

Today, we’re diving into the upcoming 2025 Tesla Model Y, codenamed Juniper. The Model Y has become a standout success for Tesla, quickly becoming their best-selling vehicle. With increasing competition, Tesla is introducing some updates to keep the Model Y ahead of the game.

Expect subtle design enhancements, including updated headlights, taillights, and a more streamlined front end. Inside, improvements may include tighter panel gaps and enhanced sound insulation for a quieter driving experience. Rumors suggest there could be an increased range, a yoke-style steering wheel similar to the Model S and X, and possibly a high-performance Plaid variant.

Tesla is also aiming to simplify production to reduce costs, which might translate into savings for you. The Model Y Performance is already impressive, being one of the most compelling American sport luxury SUVs, and the Long Range version hits 0 to 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds. For 2025, a faster version might be introduced to rival competitors like the Kia EV6 GT and Ford Mustang Mach-E GT. Both the Long Range and Performance models are expected to use the same 82.0 kWh battery and dual motor all-wheel drive, with ranges of approximately 310 miles and 285 miles respectively. Charging speeds could see some variability, with no major changes expected.

The interior will likely retain the option for five or seven seats, though the third row will still be a bit cramped for adults. Cargo space should remain ample, and the Model Y is expected to keep its top safety pick plus rating with standard driver assistance features. Tesla’s Full Self-Driving Beta will remain available as an extra-cost option.

The interior will likely echo the refreshed Model 3 with a large central touchscreen, touch-sensitive steering wheel buttons, and a center console-mounted gear selector. Rear passengers might also enjoy their own touchscreen for entertainment.

The 2025 Model Y appears to be a modest refresh focused on design tweaks and maintaining competitiveness. If you're looking for a major overhaul, you might want to hold out for future updates. However, if a proven electric SUV with some refinements sounds appealing, the 2025 Model Y could be a fantastic choice.
