Get ready for a thrilling new chapter in the world of off-road SUVs with the highly anticipated 2025 Nissan Patrol. The next-generation Patrol, codenamed Y63, is set to be unveiled on Wednesday, September 4, 2024. To build excitement, Nissan will be releasing teaser images every week throughout August, giving us exclusive previews of what's to come.
The first teaser image has already been revealed, showcasing the Patrol’s bold new V-Motion grille. This updated design features a closed-off upper section and a honeycomb-patterned lower section, echoing design elements seen in other Nissan models like the Pathfinder, X-Trail, and Kicks. This grille is an evolution of the design language first introduced with the current Y62 Patrol back in 2010.
The 2025 model marks the first major redesign in nearly 15 years, with a significant shift from the current petrol V8 engine to a more fuel-efficient twin-turbo petrol V6. This new engine is expected to deliver greater power and performance, positioning the Patrol as a strong rival to the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series.
Initially, the Y63 Patrol will launch in the Middle East and the United States, where it is known as the Armada, by the end of March 2025. However, its arrival in other markets, such as Australia, may be delayed, similar to the rollout of the previous model.
The 2025 Patrol will share its body shell with the newly unveiled Infiniti QX80, but will feature unique styling elements, including distinct front and rear designs, a reprofiled side window line, and traditional pull-type door handles. Inside, the Patrol will offer an enhanced experience with larger screens, a digital instrument cluster, and advanced safety features.
Built on an updated F-Alpha ladder frame chassis, the new Patrol will boast improved torsional rigidity while maintaining its rugged capabilities, including a braked towing capacity of 3,500 kg. With these upgrades, the 2025 Nissan Patrol is set to redefine the off-road SUV segment, blending tradition with modern innovation.
